About Meridian Labs LLC

What we do

Meridian Labs LLC develops and publishes software for the web and mobile devices. Our first product, Realmatic Toolkit, is a companion app for tabletop role-playing games that helps players and game masters manage characters, campaigns and sessions, and lets anyone design and share their own game system.

Realmatic is the first of several products we plan to release. Our aim is to be a studio with a portfolio of focused tools, each one excellent at a specific job, that share a common standard for design, accessibility and privacy.

Why "Meridian"

Our name comes from the Meridian Charter, an organization our founders invented for a tabletop campaign they played together. The Charter's purpose was to bring stability and harmony to many different worlds and peoples, and to build bridges between them.

We liked that idea enough to make it ours. We build tools that bring people together and give their imagination room to work, so they can make something they're truly excited about.

What we believe

• Craft over volume. We would rather ship a few things that are well made than many that are not.
• Creators should be rewarded. Where our products let people share or sell their work, we want the economics to favour the creator.
• Privacy by default. We collect what a product needs to work, we don't sell personal information, and optional features stay off until you turn them on.
• Accessible to everyone. We design to WCAG AA and test for use on phones in bright rooms as well as on laptops late at night.
